I've had the opportunity to attend a several events held by Lucid Voices. They were all amazing! Every open mic event showcases amazing artist that relay the passions they share through their crafts. Performing at Lucid Writers’ Open Mic Has Been Pivotal In My Life. I Overcame One of My Biggest Fear ( Stage Fright)! It Allowed MeTo Embrace My Vulnerable Side as Well As Become Comfortable With Vulnerability Which I Used To Consider A Weakness. The Openness &’ Warmth Of The Crowd Gave Me the Confidence To Actively Pursue One Of My Dreams Of Making Music And Performing.

Lucid Voices has been a consistent product and is bringing something to the community venue that was sorely needed.

During these past years Adonis Richards, Kareem True & Starkeya King have continued to work tirelessly to not only be a safe place for creativity for the youth but to also allow all artists the opportunity to perform and to feel supported in the poetry community and all around schenectady. The confidence that young poets are receiving to continue to pursue their dreams has been far and beyond appreciated in the capital district.
